So this smug sonofabitch is Jonathan Gaile, though he says “Please, call me Jon.”
A character for another one of Reach and co.’s stories, Jon’s a PR agent for a very shady organization - his job is to lie through his teeth all day while looking perfectly trustworthy and harmless, and he succeeds flawlessly. He loves his line of work.
The top one, I drew him too young, but I did like it, so that’s probably him in his college days at Harvard, studying law. The bottom one is his proper age of 43.
Some face studies I did last night. Amanda Seyfried (from random paparazzi shots) and Summer Glau (as River Tam from Firefly & Serenity)
A couple of the ladies that came to mind when working on a new character - learned some stuff about round noses, round faces, expressive mouths, and really far-spaced eyes lol.
After drawing SO MUCH RUTH for so long, it’s easy to make everyone look like her unfortunately, so I hope to do more of these little studies of all sorts of face shapes and pay more attention to things in general.
(PS I like the second Amanda, and the first Summer best.)
So after hanging with friends last night I came home, and my internet was still out - SO I GLUED TOGETHER SOME TROLL DENTURES
WHAT DID YOU GUYS DO WITH YOUR CINCO DE MAYO >:D
(P.S. - got the idea from a youtube video + one of my new friends’ cosplays, I just put these together. :3)
Writer’s Block
In one sentence is the spark of a story. Ignite.
Mission: Write a story, a description, a poem, a metaphor, a commentary, or a memory about this sentence. Write something about this sentence.
Be sure to tag writeworld in your block!
So I wrote a thing in response to this, trying to flesh out a couple of characters a bit more for a story of mine that’s going to be much longer than this. I just heard the prompt and knew I should write it. I’m hoping the more I write, the more I’ll improve, and the more I have them interact, the more their motivations will become clear.

So I was going through a set of dance studio pictures at work today, and among them was a group of girls dressed as superheroes - there was Cap, Thor, Spidey, Superman, Batman and Robin, all in leotards and tutus and knee socks to match. They were absofrigginlutely adorable, and it just made me super happy to think that somewhere out there, a bunch of girls did a ballet routine based off of DC and Marvel.
I of course can’t share their picture, but the girl dressed as Cap had such a fantastic pose, I jotted it down to draw. :3
I’d also just seen the blog over at http://bettersupes.tumblr.com/ which redesigns superhero costumes based off of awesome girls dressed up as them. So this is most definitely a nod in your direction, because I love this! Check their tumblr out.
I drew comic fanart for your story Nisse HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Based this mostly off of a really crack RP we did once in which Snow senpai was being a huge tease to tsundere Raven-chan and something happened with stealing Obli’s shoes???
I made this as terrible as possible for you, summoning up my high school comic drawing ability and everything else I could muster. I committed sins against art today, Nisse. I hope your birthday is a fantastic one. :D
Learning Ren’py programming (which is BLESSEDLY SIMPLE AND MAKES SENSE) to work on a visual novel/game/interactive story/thing
I HAVE A MENU THAT BRANCHES OFF INTO DIFFERENT CHOICES?! HUZZAH
Pretty exciting. No pictures or anything yet, just working out script. This first ‘chapter’ might take awhile. Debating on if it’s possible to do this in chunks, or if it must be one self-contained game - either way, interesting stuff. I’m really liking exploring different ways a story can go - it’s both daunting and freeing to write a story with no ‘right’ answers.
Looks like I’m getting a jump on that project anyway, thanks to the pulse-pounding heart-stopping dating sim jam this weekend prompting me (check out the pphsjam tag for some sweet stuff!) - thanks guys for getting the ball rolling! I didn’t make a game, but I got started, and that’s what’s important to me. I STARTED WRITING PROPERLY AGAIN!
’Fear project’ is now ‘Fairytale project’ though it’s definitely still about fear too.
So, I’m working at a photo place doing color correction now… and I wish I could show you the things I see. I can’t, but I can give you an artist’s rendition - I think more are to come.
Apparently it is a thing to put pictures of people in brandy snifters??? Surely, I have stumbled upon the well-kept secret of how to make things classy in an instant.
This one was a bonus - double brandy snifter. Why not?
A Ruth in a corset, giving a certain someone a rather wicked grin. She absolutely hated corsets to start, but after much positive reinforcement, she’s come to tolerate them. :P
I had a lot of fun making her limbs (and torso) bendy, and drawing this expression on her instead of the usual more passive ones.

Read moreAn experiment! I found out my old glow bracelets still glowed under a black light, and so had saved some to make into a little decoration. It was a success!
Tied them all together with clear nylon string (?) I salvaged a long time ago. So I guess the whole thing is kind of recycled. I used a whole bunch of cow hitch type knots and the string was a real pain in the ass to work with, since it wouldn’t stay put very well, but I figured it out, haha.
Also as a bonus, my nails under black light!
Did a quick 5 minute animation of a guy dancing in Flash.
I encourage everybody to drop what they’re doing and animate a quick, gestural, stupid dance.
It took….5’ish minutes. I regret no(some)thing.
Am I doing it right, Dan.
Just doing one more for the hell of it. I wish there was an easy way to see the ones other people have done (besides randomly clicking on reblogs…. unless I’m missing something).

Herp a derp I did a thing. Those feet are so inconsistent I know, but I did this in like 20 minutes? not shabby.
accurate to my dancing ability? Maybe
Promised pics of her all together again, and here she is! ‘Sueded’ the joints and re-strung her, though might’ve strung too tightly now because it’s hard to get her to sit. Whoops.
The red looks nice on her but I want to make her a white wig sometime. Also better clothes. Much much better clothes.
Her face looks pretty much how I originally envisioned her being though, so I’m pretty stoked about that. Now I just need to paint the horns and she’ll be good to go.
